So, this morning I woke up about 7:30am. This is sleeping in for me, Somewhat. I got dressed and took off across the road to get Bella so we could go riding. I successfully managed to get her across the road and tied to a tree before Savanna began freaking out. The two are bonded quite well. I got Richard up and we both went outside to see Bella calling back to her and trying to get off her lead rope so that she could go to Savanna. I calmed her down and Richard took off to Savanna to comfort her. She had her harness on and was running around like a maniac looking for Bella. She could hear Bella but couldn't see her and it was driving her nuts! She was naying and running around looking for Bella. I walked Bella back over to the field where Savanna was and decided to saddle her there. I actually wound up saddling both horses up. I rode Bella first. She got her exercise. I ran her a bit and when she got tired, I got off and tied her to a fence post. Then Richard suggested that I ride Savanna since she was already saddled. I did. She did okay. She is in heat and horses are difficult and moody when this occures. It was a short ride, but she did really well. Then we opened the gate that was separating them, Savanna and Bella sniffed each other and kinda rubbed noses. It was really sweet. They both really enjoy the other. I will probably ride Bella when it gets cooler this evening. After I took their tack off, Richard hosed them down with cool water. Bella LOVED it. Savanna wasn't so sure but quickly realized that it was a good thing that wasn't going to hurt her. They both ate while they were being cooled off. Happy horses I tell you....happy horses!
